Overall, I like this balm, but I haven’t used it long enough to confidently say whether it truly improves the texture or appearance of scars. I have a scar on the left side of my face by my nose, but I haven’t noticed any major changes. Scar care usually takes time, though, so I’m not counting it out.The balm itself is incredibly thick, rich, and creamy, with that classic cocoa butter scent. It melts into the skin nicely without feeling greasy. Because Colorado is so dry, I actually started using it on my lips and cuticles—and for that purpose, it’s amazing. It creates a nice protective layer and really helps with chapped or cracked skin.I also appreciate the packaging. The glass jar feels high-quality, more eco-friendly, and just nicer than plastic. Plus, a little really does go a long way, so the jar will last quite a while.For now, I’m going to keep using it consistently and see if longer-term use makes a difference in my scars. I’m hopeful, but time will tell.

The Acure Scar Treatment Balm truly fell below my expectations. I’ve been using this balm for the better half for two weeks and I really don’t think it made a significant difference for my acne scaring. The texture of this balm made it a little difficult to melt down and spread on the problematic parts of my face, even if I tubed it between my fingers. Then after it applied, it left a greasy film on my face, which meant I could only apply it once a day. If I were to apply it twice a day, as recommended, I wouldn’t be able to leave the house in the morning as I would be greasy. The opening of the container is also slightly narrowed than the jar, which means when you start using up the product, you’ll need to dig in to get more product. As someone with dry skin, I fail to see who I could really recommend this product for as it is a greasy mess. I also don’t recommend this for anyone with acne prone skin as I believe I have a few acne flare ups from this balm. Of note, this does not have any detectable fragrance.

It didn’t dramatically change them, but it did soften the area slightly and kept the skin moisturized, which makes the scars look a bit smoother. I think this balm would work better on newer scars, but for older cystic acne marks like mine, the results were mild.Overall: great texture, clean ingredients, feels good on the skin—just not a big game-changer for very old acne scars.
